KNX Hybrid, Hybrid module

Schneider Electric has developed the KNX Hybrid solution, which combines the reliability of a wired KNX installation with the flexibility of Zigbee wireless technology. This integration allows an existing KNX installation to be expanded with wireless products from the Wiser range (smart sockets, thermostats, switches, sensors, etc.).

This solution provides an ideal gateway for modernising existing KNX installations by adding the flexibility of Zigbee wireless technology, whilst maintaining centralised and unified management.

It is also scalable: it is possible to start with a modest installation and expand it gradually as required, and it offers great flexibility, as it allows for a partial or complete retrofit of an existing installation without any major constraints. From an economic perspective, the upgrade is inexpensive and can be carried out quickly, making it an accessible solution for all types of projects. In terms of sustainability, the solution enables the building’s energy consumption to be monitored, understood and controlled in real time.

Finally, maintenance is greatly simplified: Schneider Electric handles firmware updates for the hybrid module and associated products, with the option to fully automate this process to ensure optimal system protection.
