Man-overboard alert bracelet
SeaTags is a wristband produced by the French company Securitag SAS, based in Nantes, on the banks of the Loire.
Their mission: to use modern technology (smartphones, tablets) to revolutionise water sports safety. This connected wristband is fitted with a transmitter linked via Bluetooth to a dedicated app. Once activated, it communicates in real time with the crew’s devices (smartphones/tablets). If the wearer falls into the water, the connection is automatically severed, triggering an instant emergency alert on the paired devices. The system then records the exact GPS position at the moment of the fall into the water, enabling the casualty to be located quickly.
Altyor oversaw the industrialisation and production of the SeaTags wristband. The ergonomics, weight, dimensions, battery life and water resistance presented significant challenges during the development of this wristband.
