Connected telescopes making the universe accessible
The ambitious mission Unistellar has set itself is nothing less than making the universe accessible to as many people as possible. Mission accomplished for this French start-up. Its Amplified Vision technology gathers light, enabling users to observe numerous galaxies, nebulae and comets in unprecedented detail and colour – even in the heart of the city for the brightest objects – thanks to its ability to largely offset the effects of light pollution.
Easy to use thanks to an automatic star-tracking system, eVscope telescopes – and their latest model, the Odyssey – offer users a viewing experience comparable to that provided by conventional telescopes a hundred times larger. Every user can take advantage of this power and simplicity to become a citizen astronomer, contributing to scientific advances by generating data used by professional astronomers at the SETI Institute.
The start-up has chosen Altyor’s ScaleUp programme to co-develop and manufacture these unique telescopes, which are 100% designed in France. At Altyor, they refer to this as precision mechatronic assembly. The number of parts, the optical and motorization requirements once again demonstrated our flexibility in producing such a technologically complex product.
