Connected water meter

CityTaps is a French start-up founded in 2015 that seeks to optimize access to water for the poorest populations in the developing world. The product is a connected water meter that enables end customers to prepay their consumption via cell phone.

With this payment method, which is widely used across Africa, consumers pay for the amount of water they use according to their means.

Altyor was the CityTaps partner for the mechanical design, mechanical and electronic industrialization, and production. The challenges for this product are numerous : LoRa radio coverage in underdeveloped areas, outdoor environmental constraints, product autonomy and the need for simple installation and after-sales service.
