Designing and manufacturing today for tomorrow’s added value

Altyor has developed an in-house unit with expertise in sustainable development and eco-design: Design for Tomorrow. This unit creates and deploys tools and solutions to improve every key stage of your project, with the sole aim of reducing your product’s environmental footprint.

Eco-design at the heart of our approach

There are 4 main levers in product eco-design:

Expert in life cycle assessment

Altyor eco-designs products for its customers thanks to its two mechanical and electronic design departments. Throughout the design process, the product’s eco-responsibility is assessed to ensure a reduced environmental footprint.

Life cycle assessment is the environmental diagnosis of a product as a whole, based on environmental indicators. At Altyor, this analysis is carried out in-house by our sustainable development engineering teams, as part of product development or an Ecodesign Diag.

To take things a step further, Altyor has created its Design for Tomorrow index to assess the evolution of eco-responsible product excellence, based on an analysis of 4 major product families, including electronics, mechanics and packaging.

Can we help you with your project?

The circular economy, an effective key

The circular economy encompasses all initiatives aimed at minimizing the consumption of material goods and resources. At Altyor, we are committed to this approach by developing products designed to be repaired and by creating a remanufacturing unit in France, enabling these end-of-life products to start a new life.

What’s the impact? This translates into a 70% reduction in the environmental footprint of an electronic object compared to the production of a new product.

The eco design Diag

The Diag Econconception, operated by Bpifrance and ADEME, is a measured evaluation of the environmental impact of your product, carried out under two scopes: its life cycle analysis and its assessment via the Designing for Tomorrow eco-design index. The combination of these two calculations gives Altyor an overall view of weak points and, above all, highlights possible areas for improvement.

Our mission goes beyond this simple observation. In fact, our teams of expert engineers propose concrete actions such as integrating recycled materials, optimizing consumption, or implementing mechanical techniques for product sustainability. Each proposed solution differs according to the results of previous studies.

These actions will be evaluated (even before they are implemented) by a second lifecycle analysis and a second Designing for Tomorrow Index rating. The aim is for you to understand your product’s environmental footprint and make informed decisions that have an impact on the environment..

How can you successfully eco-design your electronic product?

Eco-design brings together all the levers for reducing a product’s environmental footprint, whether in terms of power consumption, durability, packaging or other factors. In this guide, our experts have put together 15 key points to show you the actions you can take to act effectively.
